Economy

The local economy relies heavily on both Federal and Territory funding. The funding bodies include the NT Department of Housing & Local Government, The NT Grants Commission, ICC (CDEP), Department of Health and Community Services, DEET and Centrelink.

Maningrida is a major service centre for the region and provides local government, health, education and police services.

Centrelink provides over $400,000 per fortnight in social benefits income support to Maningrida and it's surrounding outstations (not including ABSTUDY & AIC).
